What channel is Younger on? That’s been the question on the minds of many TV fans, because the Darren Star-created show has been in a weird kind of limbo between seasons.
Led by two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, the comedy-drama is one of those TV shows that flies under the radar. Its combination of witty commentary about the modern world plus an endearing unpredictability in its characters’ personal lives make it the show that every sitcom is hoping to be.
Unfortunately, it’s never been a smash hit, and so after the last season it got caught up in a game of network musical chairs. Younger started on TV Land and found a loyal fan base there. But when Viacom, TV Land’s parent company, decided to move that network away from original shows, it was announced that season 6 would head over to TV Land’s sister channel Paramount Network (formerly Spike).
But then there was even more deliberation, and the decision was reversed—so the answer to “What channel is Younger on?” is the same as it’s always been. Younger season 6 is on TV Land, airing Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
In a way, the back and forth is kind of reminiscent of the show itself. Just as Liza has been trying to find her place in a world that thinks she’s supposed to be one thing, TV executives were trying to find where they thought the show was going to fit. And in the end, just like Liza, they learned that what was best was the way it was all along.
