Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz: Live stream and viewing guide
Tyson Fury fights for the first time since battling to a draw against Deontay Wilder. His foe is Germany’s Tom Schwarz. Here’s how to watch the action.
Tyson Fury (27-0-1, 19 KOs) surprised fans and pundits alike when he battled to a draw with Deontay Wilder in December 2018. He’s returning to the ring for the first time in six months against Tom Schwarz (24-0, 16 KOs) who’s widely unknown, but Fury’s charisma makes this a fight to watch.
Fury’s stock is sky high since his performance against Wilder. The Ring magazine elevated Fury to the top spot in its heavyweight rankings ahead of Wilder. Schwarz is viewed as a tuneup opponent before an expected rematch with Wilder. Fury needs to impress if he wants to keep his ranking.
Schwarz is a wildcard who has never fought an adversary anywhere near Fury’s level. According to the Sportsbook Review, Schwarz is hovering around 13-1 odds. He’s a long shot, but the memory of the June 1 upset of Andy Ruiz Jr. over Anthony Joshua lingers.
Fury vs. Schwarz takes place on Saturday, June 15, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. There’s only one way to view Fury vs. Schwarz, and that’s on ESPN+. The broadcast will begin at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
- Fight Date: Saturday, June 15
- Main Event Time: 10p.m. ET
- Undercard Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Locations: Las Vegas, NV (MGM Grand Garden Arena)
- TV and Live Stream: ESPN2 (undercard)/ ESPN+ (main event)
The 10 p.m. broadcast will open with an intriguing light heavyweight contest between Sullivan Barrera (22-2, 14 KOs) and Jesse Hart (25-2, 21 KOs). Barrera defeated Sean Monaghan in November, while Hart is coming off a majority decision loss to Gilberto Ramirez. This is a typical puncher vs. boxer bout. Hart is an action fighter, and Barrera possesses a Cuban boxing style, but his hands are still dangerous. More undercard bouts are also available but will be shown on ESPN2 starting at 7 p.m. ET.
Fury is expected to defeat Schwarz, but he also has to look good doing it. Anything less would be considered a failure.
