All the matches for New Japan’s G1 Climax Tournament are set, with kickoff slated for July 6 in Dallas and the finale set for August 12 in Tokyo.
On Sunday, New Japan Pro Wrestling announced the participants in this year’s G1 Tournament, which kicks off with G1 Climax 29 on July 6 in Dallas, Texas. There will be 20 wrestlers involved in the tournament — 10 per block — but we didn’t know just how and when the matches would be structured and take place.
NJPW took care of that on Monday, releasing the full slate of tournament opponents for the 18-night event, which runs through August 11. The final match will take place on August 12 between the top scorer in each of the A and B block tournaments, respectively.
The Dallas event will feature five A block matchups: Kota Ibushi vs. KENTA, Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Will Osprey vs. Lance Archer, EVIL vs. Bad Luck Fale and SANADA vs. Zack Sabre Jr. More non-tournament matches could also be part of the card, but B block participant Jon Moxley will not be in attendance in Dallas per NJPW (via Wrestlezone on Mandatory)

The G1 is a notoriously grueling tournament. After the Dallas show, the wrestlers get seven days off before Night 2 commences on July 13 in Tokyo with the first set of B block matchups. The two blocks trade nights — nearly every night — throughout Japan until the Final on August 12 at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.
The full tournament can be streamed live on New Japan World, while AXS TV in the United States will be airing the G1 Climax Night 1 live and will broadcast same-day G1 shows on Saturdays. There are numerous dream matches taking place throughout the tournament. Check out the full list at New Japan’s website.
