Beloved Toronto Raptors fan ‘Plant Guy’ finally found Kawhi Leonard at the championship parade.

The Toronto Raptors won the first championship in franchise history by beating the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals last week and the party started immediately in the city.

There were obviously a lot of fans imbibing different types of beverages after the title was secured, but one particularly sauced fan went viral after wandering the streets of Toronto carrying a large plant that he wanted to give to Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard as a housewarming gift.

The series ended in Oakland by the way.

Well, “Plant Guy,” as he will forever be known as, made his way over to the Raptors championship parade and he was able to hand-deliver his plant to the bus Leonard was on with the team.

That ended this long, national nightmare and the fans in Toronto cheered loudly as “Plant Guy” raised his gift up to Leonard the Finals MVP’s massive hands.

The Raptors might lose Kawhi in free agency, but he’ll forever be a legend in Canada for bringing the country their first NBA title.

As for “Plant Guy”, he’s certainly enjoying the attention that the video created in his life, his journey, and his quest.

His real name is Kyle, but his nickname is so much cooler.

“Been a fan my whole life,” “Plant Guy” said to Global News. “This city has a million real fans the last two nights I’ve been walking around at 5 a.m. I watch every game back home. I scream at my TV. I break tables when we win. I break tables when we lose.

“I run out to my yard and celebrate. I’m not joking, my hand cannot handle any more table bashes from Serge dunks. It can’t. I came out here as a fan. I pulled a tree out of the ground.”

These are the kind of stories that make the NBA so much fun to follow. And if the Raptors are able to keep this up and win another championship or two, then something tells me that “Plant Guy” might keep making headlines.
