2. Do the Packer have enough weapons for Aaron Rodgers?

The Green Bay Packers will go as far as Aaron Rodgers will take them this season, but he can’t do it all on his own. For years, Rodgers had an elite cast of characters surrounding him on offense, including elite wide receivers like Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson.

Green Bay has done a poor job replenishing those weapons over the years, and Rodgers’ supporting cast has really deteriorated as a result. The Packers still have a bona fide No.1 receiver in Davante Adams, but the rest of the receiving corps leaves a lot to be desired.

After Randall Cobb left for Dallas in free agency, Green Bay’s second option will likely emerge from a mix of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison, Equanimeous St. Brown, Trevor Davis, J’Mon Moore, and Jake Kumerow. That is a lot of unproven options behind Adams, which could lead to issues if one of them can’t step up to take some pressure off of the All-Pro wideout.

The tight end and running back spots aren’t in much better shape. Jimmy Graham underwhelmed in his first year as a Packer, catching 55 passes for 636 yards and two touchdowns, insuring Green Bay to draft Jace Sternberger in the second round as a long term replacement. Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams will continue to split time at the running back position as Green Bay lacks a true bell cow in the backfield.

The good news is that the Packers have a new offensive scheme under Matt LaFleur, so they may be able to come up with play designs to help create open receivers for Rodgers. Without a significant talent infusion, a lot will fall on Rodgers’ shoulders again, and it is asking a lot of the future Hall of Famer to get the most out of some average weapons.
