WWE star Lars Sullivan expected to miss 6-9 months after knee injury.

So far, 2019 has not been kind to the man known as “The Freak,” Lars Sullivan. During his transition from NXT to the main roster, an anxiety attack caused him to take some unexpected time off and delay his actual debut. And now, his seemingly short-lived path of destruction has taken another unfortunate turn.

Sullivan has not been on television since the June 10 Monday Night Raw, that followed the recent Super Showdown event in Saudi Arabia. He underwent an MRI to assess some potential knee damage, and things initianally looked positive for the monster star. But now it seems that the injury is more severe than WWE’s medical staff initially thought, and now he is expected to miss an estimated 6-9 months of action.

If that timeline is correct, that would theoretically put his timetable for return somewhere around the 2020 Royal Rumble. This latest turn of events just caps what has been a disastrous year for Sullivan. First it was the aforementioned anxiety attacks that may have cost him a huge WrestleMania push, then some old posts he made on some message boards came back to haunt him over some hatefeul things that he said. WWE jumped on that by fining him and ordering him to sensitivity training. Now this injury is apparently the icing on the cake.

It’s well known that injuries, mixed with a building history of issues, can cause the opinions of those in charge to sour very quickly. With the problems Sullivan has already had this year, what will happen when he does eventually return next year?

Downtime can often be a bad thing in the world of pro wrestling, especially how fast the business moves today. But for Sullivan, this a golden opportunity to rebuild his image, get healthy, and get back on track for his return to the ring.
