Gallus goes hunting
Looking for a measure of revenge after being sneak attacked two weeks ago, The Hunt take on Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus. It’s a pretty good match, but one that’s really only in the service of what happens after it ends.
Removed from the context of Glasgow, where Gallus were hometown heroes, The Hunt being underdog babyfaces makes slightly more sense. Slightly. It’s still hard to fully buy the feral monsters who want to tear people apart as the “good” guys, but you know what, maybe that’s judging a book by its cover.
Much like Kassius Ohno, Gallus control the entirety of this match. Things start off hot with both teams slugging on each other both inside the ring and out, but it quickly becomes Gallus domination. After hitting a senton to both the back and front of Mark Coffey, Wild Boar spends the rest of the match getting slowly picked apart in Gallus’ corner.
Coffey and Wolfgang quick-tag each other approximately 73 times in order to deliver a series of punches, knees and full Nelsons. All Primate can do is hopelessly hold the tag rope in his mouth and watch as his partner is trapped on the other side of the ring.
Even the eventual hot tag gets quelled rather quickly as Gallus hit Primate with their tandem kick-power slam move for the three-count. Business doesn’t end there however, as Joe Coffey comes to the ring so the team can triple handshake, pose and proceed to beat down The Hunt some more.
This attack however, brings out another wild animal who has problems with Gallus, Dave Mastiff. Mastiff looks crazed like he wants to take on all three of them at once. Sensing that he might actually succeed if he did, Gallus bounce from the ring the second Mastiff steps through the ropes.
Like was said above, the entire match of The Hunt getting pulverized was all for the purposes of this stand-off. If Gallus wanted to continue its war on the animal-named wrestlers, they should have expected mutual strife would bring them together. Mastiff, Primate and Boar may be taking a chomp out of Gallus in the near future.
