A weekly recap of the hit YouTube series Being the Elite, featuring the stars of AEW like the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Cody and others.

Being the Elite opens up this week with Christopher Daniels in a locker room. He sees someone not on screen and is very excited about it, asking if they would help him do an SCU bit with him for Being the Elite. The camera pans to reveal that it’s none other than Dr. Britt Baker.

But much to Daniels’ dismay she tells him no. She tells Daniels that she’s still upset with him. Daniels is confused and asks what he did and she brings up a date from back in 2017, obviously referencing when Daniels defeated current NXT Champion Adam Cole for the Ring of Honor World Championship.

Daniels is flabbergasted and can’t believe that Baker is still upset about that. She then laughs and says she’s just joking. She tells him that she has a surprise for him and to close his eyes. Daniels gets excited and said how much he likes surprises as she places his hand on Joey Ryan’s crotch.

He tries to describe it but can’t figure out what it is, and Baker tells him to open his eyes. When he sees Ryan and where his hand is he panics before taking Ryan’s signature move to kick off the episode this week. Certainly not the opening we would have expected this week, but everyone played it off incredibly well and it was a funny way to kick off the show.

After the 8-bit opening, we get another shot of Daniels on the floor holding his lower back, obviously in a lot of pain. It seems to go on a bit too long. Think the Peter Griffin knee gag in Family Guy. We think that was the intention here.

Afterward, we go to the control room for Fyter Fest. Kenny Omega is trying to hype up his team about the event as they are heading there in 48 hours. But it’s revealed to them that as far as food goes for the event they currently have bread and cheese. Omega loses his mind and says that’s not good enough. Jebailey mentions fried chicken and Chipotle, but neither of those ideas seems to appeal to him.

He tries to change the subject to guests and talks about trying to bring in Robert Downey Jr., but their offer to get him to appear was too low. So Omega offers to talk to RDJ himself and tries to sweeten his deal. We are then immediately taken to MJF at Create-A-Pro wrestling school looking at his phone talking about all of the ugly women on Tinder.

MJF is approached by Walter, who looks to be his butler. Walter tells MJF that he found him the perfect carbon copy of Hangman Page to train with. MJF asks to see him and unfortunately, the person Walter found isn’t exactly up to par with Hangman.

MJF goes on a rant about how this guy is actually better than Page, but Walter calms him down and gets him into the ring. He reminds Walter that Hangman is supposed to have a bad knee so Walter hits the guy in the knee with a steel chair before MJF declares that there is a new Hitman in town — obviously taking a shot at Bret Hart — as he puts a sharpshooter on the Page impostor who quickly taps out. MJF yells out that he will see Hangman this Saturday at Fyter Fest.

Up next, AEW referee Rick Knox is being blinded by headlights of a car that is being driven by Luchasaurus. He approaches the car and tells him that he needs to get out of the car, that he can’t be driving around with Jungle Boy on his shoulders and who has most of his body sticking out of the sunroof of the vehicle.

Luchasaurus doesn’t comply, so Knox issues the referee’s five-count which makes them finally get out of the vehicle. Knox scolds Luchasaurus that there is no good reason that they need to be doing everything with Jungle Boy on his shoulders. Luchasaurus tells him that with “all due respect” (and putting on a pair of glasses), he tells Knox that he has a Masters Degree. The two get back in the car as Knox seemingly gives up at this point, not knowing what else to say.

There’s a brief interaction between Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler. Avalon seems to be warming up to the idea of there being two Librarians a lot more, alongside Leva Bates. It’s pretty clear that this is going to turn into some kind of love story. We’re sure that Bates and Avalon will be able to pull this off in entertaining fashion.

We go back to Daniels still in pain on the locker room floor. So this looks to be a recurring part of this week’s episode. It kind of feels a bit like overkill.

After that, we are taken to a music video montage of the Young Bucks’ trip to Mexico last week when they dropped the AAA World tag team titles back to the Lucha Bros. There’s not really anything in it of note, to be honest. If you’ve seen the typical BTE music montages you know what to expect.

Next, we go to a commercial for Fyter Fest which airs on Saturday night, June 29, on Bleacher Report Live. For everyone who missed out on watching Double or Nothing due to the steep pay-per-view prices are in luck, because this show is free to all Bleacher Report Live subscribers. It really is a great deal for everyone who wants to check out AEW for the first time. This will be the perfect place to start.

Afterward, we go to Houston at an airport during a layover as the Young Bucks try to get back home. Matt is watching their match with the Lucha Bros on his phone with his headphones on. Nick says this is the fifth time he’s watched the match and says he’s taking the loss really hard. It certainly seems like the feud between the Bucks and the Lucha Bros will go on well beyond Fyter Fest on  Saturday night.

The Young Bucks then take another pot shot at Cody’s post-match promo with his older brother, Dustin Rhodes, at Double or Nothing. Even with Fyter Fest this Saturday they are already making an effort to build to Fight for the Fallen which will occur only a few short weeks later. Cody and Dustin will be facing the Bucks at that event.

We go back to the Fyter Fest control room to end the show. Talks between Omega and RDJ don’t end well, so he tries to book half the cast of the old TV sitcom Full House and that seemingly falls through, too. Omega says they should give up on actors and says they should focus on a musical act instead. One of the helpers suggests Rick Astley and Omega absolutely ends his mind to end the show.

Or so we thought. There was a quick clip at the end of Jebailey complaining about doing all the work for Fyter Fest and Omega not being of any help and accuses of him probably just playing Dance Dance Revolution, which (believe it or not) was exactly what he was doing. It was a pretty funny moment to end the show on.

Road to Fyter Fest episode 3: Introducing Private Party. dark. Next

That wraps up this week’s edition of Being the Elite and unless there is a bonus episode later on in the week, this was the final episode before Fyter Fest. What did you think of this week’s episode? Did you have a favorite part? Sound off in the comments section below!
