NHL Season Preview: Full 2019-20 regular season schedule

Now that the National Hockey League’s 2019-20 regular season schedule has been released, let’s have a look at the assigned matchups for each respective team.

The National Hockey League’s 2019-20 regular season schedule has just been released, with matchups slated to begin on Oct. 2, 2019 and games set to conclude on Apr. 4, 2020.

There are a few key matters that fans will want to take note of:

  • Preseason Matchups: Two preseason matchups shall take place in Europe. On Sept. 29, Eisbaren Berlin will face the Chicago Blackhawks at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany. Then, on Sept. 30, Lausanne HC shall play the Philadelphia Flyers at Vaudoise Arena in Lausanne, Switzerland.
  • International Games: The NHL’s “Global Series” will take the form of three regular season games — each of which shall take place on European ice. The Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks will play the first matchup of their respective campaigns against one another at O2 Arena (Prague, Czech Republic) on Oct. 4. Then, just over a month later, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres shall partake in two games at Ericsson Globe (Stockholm, Sweden) on Nov. 8 and 9, respectively.
  • Outdoor Games: Three outdoor matchups are slated to take place. The fifth Heritage Classic — between the Calgary Flames and the Winnipeg Jets — will be held on Oct. 26 at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Winter Classic shall feature the Nashville Predators facing off against the Dallas Stars on Jan. 1, 2020 at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas. And the Stadium Series will see the Los Angeles Kings take on the Colorado Avalanche at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • All-Star Game: Set in St. Louis, Missouri, the 2020 All-Star Game will take place on Jan. 26, 2020.
  • Playoffs: The Stanley Cup playoffs will begin in early April and shall conclude by mid-June.
