After the amazing triple-threat match at Stomping Grounds produced a new Cruiserweight Champion in Drew Gulak what will the fallout be on 205 Live?
Drew Gulak, Akira Tozawa and former 205 Live Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese brought the fight to WWE Stomping Grounds on Sunday. The incredible match stole the show and in the midst of the triple threat action, 205 Live crowned a new champion in Gulak.
Gulak will have little time to rest as he now wears a target on his back as champion. The rest of the 205 roster, including Tozawa and Nese, will be gunning for a shot at the Cruiserweight Championship.
Meanwhile, the tag scene in 205 Live continues to heat up after The Singh Brothers scored another win last week, this time over Lucha House Party. The match went back-and-forth and only ended when Sunil tied-up Lince Dorado in a school-boy with a handful of tights. Lucha House Party could be looking for retribution.
Another man looking to settle the score is Oney Lorcan. After scoring the victory over Ariya Daivari via disqualification the match continued in brawl which saw Daivari brutalizing Lorcan by tossing him into the steel steps and the LED board before hitting him with the Pepsi Twist on the stage. Look for Lorcan to get some measure of revenge on Daivari. Maybe a falls-count-anywhere match is in their future.
It’ll be interesting to see 205 Live general manager Drake Maverick’s state of mind after getting pinned at his own wedding and losing the 24/7 Championship back to R-Truth. His mind might be so sidetracked with getting the title back that the talent could take it into their own hands to set-up matches. For instance Mike Kanellis has picked a fight with Gentleman Jack Gallagher for “blowing a golden opportunity.” Gallagher didn’t take kindly to the remark and insisted they settle it in the ring for the upcoming edition of 205 Live.
