Seth Rollins got into a Twitter war with Will Ospreay, among others, as Rollins stepped up to defend the work ethic in the WWE.

Maybe it’s true that the more time you spend with your significant other the more you become like them. The usually laid-back Seth Rollins seemed to be channeling real-life girlfriend Becky Lynch when he took to Twitter recently to unload some grievances that have been building up in his mind as of late.

It started as a simple Tweet with Rollins citing WWE as “the best pro wrestling on the planet” as the WWE headed into Stomping Grounds.

When fans and media chided him for the statement he doubled down and reiterated his stance before going on a Lynch-style burn fest. One of his targets came in the form of current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay when Ospreay opted to jump in on Rollins’ thread and announce he was “alive.” From there the two bantered back and forth before Ospreay peeled off and continued on his own Twitter timeline.

The entire Twitter war got everyone’s attention including current WWE Superstar Matt Hardy and former WWE Superstar, and current AEW top draw Chris Jericho. Even Lynch chimed in with a hilarious take on the entire beef.

Earlier in the week Rollins spoke with Sports Illustrated Media Podcast where he discussed exactly why he finally spoke up in defense of WWE:

"“You can only sit back and read people bashing something you love for so long and sit there and take and try to take the high road … I’m really proud of what I do and what our crew does and the effort they put forwards and I’m not just talking about the wrestlers, the guys and girls you see out in the ring, I’m talking about everyone from creative all the way up to Vince McMahon. Y’know we put a ton of effort into making a product that I think is pretty darn good considering the amount of content we put out there. And the fact that people want to sit on their little soap boxes, and their stupid little social media machines, and talk down about it really speaks volumes about the generation and where they’re at. So I figured somebody’s got to fight back, it might as well be me since I am the champ and I consider myself the top guy in our company.”"

The battle between Rollins and Ospreay probably won’t go any further than social media. But with the amount of passion Rollins has for his work, his colleagues and his company, he’s not likely to stand down from his beliefs no matter how many people want to attack him for it.
