AEW Fyter Fest preview: Christopher Daniels vs. CIMA
By Paul Bradley
An interesting undercard match with two seasoned veterans was one of the last matches to be added to the Fyter Fest card.
CIMA gained a lot of new fans at Double or Nothing in his six man tag match alongside his Strong Hearts brothers. His team dominated most of the match but he ended up leaving Las Vegas with a tick in the loss column due to the craftiness and ingenuity of fan favorites SCU. CIMA has a chip on his shoulder due to his loss and he is on a mission to showcase his home promotion, OWE, and show that he has a lot of gas left in the tank.
His opponent for Fyter Fest is also trying to prove his career is not over just yet.
The Fallen Angel, Christopher Daniels, got a win in the first match of his AEW career and he looks to secure another win over his Double or Nothing opponent, CIMA. Daniels is no stranger to CIMA as these two have crossed paths in multiple countries in the past. But this time around both men have a wealth of knowledge and experience to pull from.
Both men need a win here but CIMA needs it just a tad bit more, as he needs momentum heading into his match at Fight for the Fallen. Because in that match he’s facing off against the ace of AEW, Kenny Omega.
Daniels’ direction post Fyter Fest is less clear than CIMA’s, and he has his ventures in the tag division with SCU to fall back on if he comes up short in this contest.
This might be one of the weaker matches on the show but both men are going to come into this fight looking to prove that they can still go. Don’t expect laziness or shortcut-taking from either men.
