12. The FBI probe

This is where the current FBI probe has landed on our list of scandals, and it could well end up in the top five by the time the dust settles. Since we’re still waiting for resolution and penalties for those involved, it ends up here.

To sum up what we know so far, the FBI has investigated companies like Adidas for a few years on suspicions they were paying agents and coaches to steer college athletes towards them once they turned professional. Four assistant coaches, including Emmanuel “Book Richardson”, were arrested for their role in taking bribes in exchange for influencing recruits to sign with certain schools.
