2. Damien Williams will rush for 1,000 yards

Hunt ran the ball 181 yards for this offense last season. Someone on the roster is going to need to pick up the lion’s share of those carries. Williams is the guy who looks ready to take over as Reid’s starting running back.

He’s not the explosive player that Hunt is, but it’s not as if he isn’t a good football player. He averaged over 5 yards per carry on 50 carries last year. Admittedly that’s a very small sample size, but it does show that Williams flashed real ability in 2018.

The biggest question about Williams is whether or not he can be the guy for a full 16 game regular season. The Chiefs aren’t going to pound opponents into submission with their run game, but last year represented Williams’ career high in carries. He may be asked to quadruple that number in 2019.

The Chiefs certainly aren’t headed into the season expecting Williams to break 1,000 yards, but he’s got a chance to be one of the NFL’s breakout players this season. He’s going to find a way to produce a lot of yards, and for your fantasy owners, a lot of scores, for Mahomes and company.
