Philadelphia Eagles – Miles Sanders

The Philadelphia Eagles are an intriguing sleeper team this season, though a squad that won a playoff game and won the Super Bowl the year before might not necessarily qualify as a “sleeper”. But with Carson Wentz at quarterback, a deep group of wide receivers, and a defense improved by elite cornerback Ronald Darby, the Eagles can go far in 2019.

One area of weakness Eagles ace general manager Howie Roseman aggressively addressed in the offseason is the running back position. Not only did he steal Jordan Howard from the Chicago Bears, but he also drafted Miles Sanders with the 53rd overall pick.

While Howard is a 1,000-yard running back and the Eagles have a few other interesting players in Josh Adams and Corey Clement, Sanders is the man to watch here. Arguably the best running back in this year’s draft class, Sanders could have been a late first-round pick and few would have complained. The former Penn State star is the most talented, three-down back on the roster.

In a committee, Sanders can emerge as the best option and has the most individual talent of the backs on the roster. If Sanders can make a splash in his first NFL season, the Eagles could have one of the league’s best offenses with Wentz, DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz, and Stanford rookie JJ Arcega-Whiteside spearheading the passing attack.
