Philadelphia 76ers
PG – Mo Cheeks
Cheeks was as steady as they come across nearly 900 games in a 76ers’ uniform. He made four All-Star teams, helped lead them to a title in 1983 and is still the franchise’s all-time leader in assists and steals.
SG – Allen Iverson
Allen Iverson represented the city of Philadelphia in a way that is rarely seen from a franchise player in any sport. Iverson was fearless on the floor and his patented crossover claimed plenty of victims, from Michael Jordan to Antonio Daniels (twice in one play). Iverson is to this day an icon in Philly and if I could, I would’ve given Iverson every spot from point guard to center in this fictional Sixers lineup.
SF – Julius Erving
Julius Erving only became a member of the Philadelphia 76ers when the New York Nets were faced with financial struggles in their move to merge into the NBA from the ABA and as a result, they sent Erving to the Sixers to make good on debts. Erving wasn’t only a ticket-seller, he would finish his career as one of the best players to ever suit up for the liberty ballers.
PF – Charles Barkley
Charles Barkley was not a role model but he was a great player. The Round Mound Of Rebound entered the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers and played with Julius Erving and Moses Malone before making the Sixers his own team. Barkley would reach the heights of his career elsewhere but it was in Philadelphia that he proved he was one of the best players in the NBA.
C – Wilt Chamberlain
Wilt Chamberlain played just four seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. In three of those seasons, he would win MVP (1966, 1967, and 1968). Chamberlain was just too much and too good for most opposing teams to handle. He spent the least amount of time during his career with the Sixers but he made sure to make the most of that short-stint.
