1. Kawhi Leonard

Leonard tops this list for obvious reasons. His dominance during the 2019 NBA Playoffs led the Toronto Raptors to their first championship, and anywhere he goes will become a contender instantly.

Leonard has been offered a free condo and free meals for the rest of his life, and so it’s hard to believe that he’ll leave.

He was raised in California, though, and he’d be an excellent fit with Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers. But didn’t Raptors head coach Nick Nurse and Toronto’s entire medical staff just prove that their situation is pretty good as well? They were wise to rest him at times during the regular season, and that wisdom was rewarded with a title.

The Raptors could be in the conversation for the next five years if Leonard stays, and all of Canada would be thrilled to cheer him on for multiple seasons. You know “Plant Guy” is down for the journey.

Leonard is a curious dude who doesn’t leak that much to the media, and so we all might be surprised by what happens with him in July. But at the end of the day, he’ll make any team better by signing with them.

Congratulations to all of Canada for their first NBA title. Hopefully, they can keep this dynasty intact, but the NBA is quite a fluid league at the moment with lots of player movement. I’m curious to see how many meetings he sets up, particularly if he’ll listen to a Lakers pitch. Especially now that they have a max slot open, he might consider joining forces with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. That could be the best trio of players to ever form a superteam.
