Rain: Cincinnati(slight), Arlington(very slight)

Wind: 12 mph in from right in Arlington

Hot/humid: Cincinnati

It’s not as hot in Texas as it is in Cin city if you can believe that. The hitting conditions are still good in Texas, but Cincinnati’s are better. The rain chances are only in the form of pop up thunderstorms, so the games wont be affected much, if at all.

My Snell/Bieber, and Cole/Scherzer lineups both cashed. Big days from the Cubs stack and Reds/Nationals stack were foiled by Aaron Sanchez and Steven Brault. Still, it was a high scoring day with 125 not even hitting the cash line. The late lineup was spoiled by an off day from Ray.

These tips are based mostly on past performance. This is a nice tool for building a lineup, but should not be the only pieces of information you use. We have plenty of writers on here who give you relevant information no matter which site you play on, and we all attack the slate from different angles.

OAKLAND, CA – APRIL 22: Mike Minor #23 of the Texas Rangers pitches against the Oakland Athletics in the bottom of the first inning of a Major League Baseball game at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on April 22, 2019 in Oakland, California. (Photo by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images)

DraftKings MLB Pitcher Plays:

Top Tier:

Mike Minor ($10,500): Minor looks expensive, and the Angels are hitting everything right now. They have even hit Minor for a .256 average in 82 at bats. However, despite the three homers, the Angels only have five runs. The 12 strikeouts is way off of what you want from an ace. Make no mistake about it. Minor is priced as an ace. However, Minor has held the Angels to just one solo homer in 15 innings this year with all 12 of those strikeouts. Those numbers look pretty good now, right?

Logan Allen ($9,200): Allen has been strong in his first two starts, including on a hot and humid day in Baltimore. He can handle the Giants in AT&T Park. The Giants don’t have elevated strikeout totals, but they are one of the worst hitting and lowest scoring teams this side of the Mississippi. Allen has turned in 26.2 and 17.5 DraftKings points respectively. I’d say he’s in line for another 20 spot here.

Middle Tier:

Jeff Samardzija ($7,200): The Padres have been decent against Samardzija, hitting .250 with three homers and ten runs in 108 at bats with 20 strikeouts. Nothing really stands out. The issue here is that the middle tier of pitching is a disaster tonight. You almost have to punt both slots or pay up for both. Shark is the only middle tier guy that might be serviceable. He did give up only one unearned run to the Padres in five innings earlier this year.

Bargain Pitchers:

Ryan Yarbrough ($6,500): For whatever reason, Yarbrough has the yips at home this year. He has been absolutely destroyed with a 7.32 home ERA in six long relief appearances. However, this is the Orioles. The team doesn’t hit well in Tampa, and really didn’t hit well until the Cleveland series. This is a great spot for Yarbrough to get on track at home, but there is some risk with all of the right handed Baltimore bats.

Adbert Alzolay ($6,400): Alzolay has given the Cubs solid outings in both starts, but he hasn’t gone five innings yet. That could change here, but I am nervous because this Pirates offense is dangerous right now. At any rate, Alzolay has been strong in limited exposure. Considering he wont have to go through the lineup a third time here either, I would think Alzolay has another solid outing. There just isn’t much for upside because six innings is pretty much out of the question.

My picks: Minor, Allen; Minor, Yarbrough

MILWAUKEE, WI – AUGUST 03: Eric Thames #7 of the Milwaukee Brewers celebrates a three run walk off home run against the Colorado Rockies during the ninth inning of a game at Miller Park on August 3, 2018 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. (Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images)

DraftKings MLB Stack Options 7-1:

Chicago Cubs vs. Trevor Williams:

The Cubs haven’t hit Trevor Williams well, but when they have hit him, it counts. Schwarber is 5-15 with two homers. Rizzo has the other homer. Bote and Willson Contreras have each driven in a couple. Williams was dominant at home last year, but has an ERA over 6 at home this year. I’m all over the Cubs lefties here with the exception of Heyward. Heyward is just 1-11 lifetime against Williams.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Orioles bullpen:

The Orioles are giving Bundy an extra day of rest, so this will be a bullpen day with Jimmy Yacabonis going first. Score! The Orioles’ bullpen is nothing short of horrid, so a Tampa stack is in order. I don’t care if they’re slumping. They aren’t worse than the Baltimore pen. I like punting catcher to start and using the entire infield of Choi, Adames, Lowe, and Yandy Diaz. The outfield is a bit less of a priority, but I’m still on Avi Garcia.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Tyler Mahle:

The Brewers haven’t hit Mahle all that hard in a small sample size, but Eric Thames has homered off of him twice. That makes since sense Mahle is getting hammered by lefties this year. All of them! The splits are severe and he has been much worse on the road. The Brewers best bats are on the left side, so this could get ugly. Yelich, Moose, and Yasmani Grandal are elite plays as well. This is my favorite stack of the night.

Texas Rangers vs. Jose Suarez:

Suarez has given up eight runs over 10.2 innings over his last two starts against a struggling Rays team and an average Jays team. The Rangers could really light him up in Arlington. The only advantage Suarez has is pitching from the left side. Danny Santana and Joey Gallo are elite plays. Choo and Nomar Mazara aren’t far behind. I really hope the Rangers use Jeff Mathis at catcher so I can get a value bat in there.

CINCINNATI, OH – SEPTEMBER 28: Corey Dickerson #12 of the Pittsburgh Pirates doubles to drive in a run in the first inning against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on September 28, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

DraftKings MLB notes July 1:

I usually don’t chase Yarbrough, so I’m probably not going to start here. Still, with all of the righties in this lineup, it seems foolish to just ignore it. Renato Nunez busted out of his slump, and might be my favorite one off here. Anthony Santander looks good too. There is also a really cheap Hanser Alberto leading off.

More from FanSided

I’m a little nervous about Adrian Houser here. First, the Brewers only let him go 64 pitches in his first start, and he wasn’t efficient with them. There is practically zero upside here. The good news for Milwaukee is that their bullpen is one of the better ones around, so I’m not really chasing Reds here. I can understand a cheaper Gennett or the power of Yasiel Puig, but I wont have more than one Red in any lineup. There are better places to go.

This is a really dangerous spot for Alzolay. Corey Dickerson, Josh Bell, and Kevin Newman are on fire right now. Marte and Bryan Reynolds aren’t far off. Part of me thinks Alzolay is going to get clobbered, especially by the lefties. I will be deploying at least one Pirates stack just in case

Calhoun and Mike Trout have homered against Minor in the past, so I can see using them. I can even see using Ohtani here. I just wont use more than one or two in any lineup with the way Minor is pitching.

The fortunate thing for Shark is that he doesn’t have reverse splits, but he still allows some homers. That could be bad with Franimal, Hunter Renfroe, and Tatis on the other side. Not to mention Manny Machado. The Padres are kind of all or nothing for me tonight. I’m either playing all of them or none.

Buster Posey is a decent cheap punt, but not much else interests me from the Giants side. Most of them are slumping. That’s just exacerbated when facing a good pitcher.
