Fantasy Football – The Top 5 Wide Receivers To Watch For (#2)

2. Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons)

I am not a believer in the Atlanta Falcons at all and probably will never be one but I do love some Julio Jones, a monster in the NFL. The Atlanta Falcons have the formula down to make it to the playoffs and possibly to the Superbowl but they don’t have the answer to finish the job. But with Julio Jones, they will always have that chance. Jones broke a record last season to become the only wide receiver to record five straight seasons of 1,400 yards receiving yards. That’s a record that he’ll most likely continue this season once again.

Julio Jones knows how to dominate no matter what obstacles are in front of him or no matter how many defenders are actually guarding him. The man just catches everything (well at least almost). He finished the 2018 season with 1,677 receiving yards while finding the end-zone 8 times. He averaged 104 receiving yards per game which he has now done five times in his career. He also averaged 15 yards per catch while holding a catch rating of 66%.

The Atlanta Falcons are a team that rarely changes their look or adding any major athlete to help push them forward. Matt Ryan is their franchise quarterback for good reason (which I say is debatable) while sticking with the same running-back and wide receiver core as last season. Freeman and Ito Smith will be manning the backfield while Julio Jones will be grabbing all of the attention while Mohamed Sanu will garner some attention in certain match-ups. Like I mentioned early though, it doesn’t matter if it’s one defender or five guarding Julio Jones, the man will be able to catch the ball and get the job done. I wouldn’t say that the Falcons are a top contender in their division but they’ll be fighting throughout the season which makes Julio Jones a top target to watch for once again in the 2019 NFL season.
