3. Bojan Bogdanovic, Utah Jazz

Terms: Four years, $73 million (per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN)

The Utah Jazz got off to a strong start prior to free agency even beginning as they landed point guard Mike Conley via a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. In doing so, they were able to upgrade at the position from Ricky Rubio, who started for them as they went to the postseason last year. However, after the addition of Conley, the Jazz still needed an upgrade with their overall shooting.

Bojan Bogdanovic should provide that for them. Not only is the 30-year old Bosnian forward a career 38.9 percent shooter from 3-point range, but he’s coming off of his best two seasons of his NBA career in that regard with the Pacers. In the 2017-18 campaign, he hit on 40.2 percent of his attempts from deep while improving on that to convert on 42.5 percent of his attempts in the 2018-19 season.

With the ability of Conley and Donovan Mitchell to create, Bogdanovic should be treated to plenty of open looks on the outside as a spot-up shooter. Furthermore, he can lessen the load of the two guards with his ability to get his own shot. Additionally, the spacing that he’ll create should help open up the middle of the lane for Rudy Gobert.

Yes, the price tag for Bogdanovic is certainly a steep one. However, as the Jazz try to become more of a threat in the Western Conference, adding a forward of his caliber and with his skill-set to the mix should certainly put Utah in a position to be even better come the start of the 2019-20 season.
