2. DeSean Jackson will lead the team in receptions

Evidently no one told Jackson that you can’t go home again. He’s returning to the Eagles a full 10 seasons after they initially drafted him. Suffice it to say, he’s a much different person and a moderately different player than he was back then.

He’s still well-positioned to play a really big role for this offense. Zach Ertz garners a ton of attention from opposing secondaries at the tight end position. Specifically, safeties keep a close eye on him every time the ball is snapped.

On the outside, Alshon Jeffery frequently commands double teams due to the size and force he plays the game with. The former South Carolina star won’t run away from NFL cornerbacks, but he will push them around to get open.

Add all that up and there’s a giant opportunity for a small, quick receiver like Jackson to put up big numbers in 2019. It will be a significant upset if he ends up leading the team in catches, but he should forge a great bond with Wentz on quick, inside throws. Again, the Eagles want to get the ball out of Wentz’s hands earlier this season. That’s going to lead to a lot of short catches for Jackson upon his return to Philadelphia.
