Store 4th of July hours: Is Walmart open?
The July 4th holiday has arrived and that means BBQ, beaches and lots of travel. But will Walmart be open for all of your last-minute shopping needs?
The 4th of July lands on a Thursday in 2019 and that means that many Americans will take Friday off in order to stretch the holiday into a four day weekend. That means plenty of BBQs, parties and fireworks. Should you need to replenish your party supplies, Walmart will be open for business for all of your shopping needs.
Walmart is widely known as one of the top destinations for holiday shopping, primarily because you can find whatever you need in one spot. From food to party favors, grills to grass-fed beef, Walmart has it all. It’s also the place to go when you forget your toiletries or when the airline loses your luggage on the way to your vacation destination.
When it comes to holidays, Walmart is only closed on one day: Christmas. Many stores are closed for part of the day on Thanksgiving morning and afternoon, but they open in the early evening for Black Friday shoppers. After making it through the busy shopping season, the company rewards its employees by closing all stores on Christmas Day.
Though Walmart is open on the 4th of July, hours may vary by location, especially for locations housed inside malls that might observe the holiday. It’s possible that some locations will close early, or that certain services (automotive, pharmacy, optical, etc) will have shortened hours in observance of the holiday. Store pickup and ship to store services might also be unavailable on the 4th of July.
Be sure to call ahead before heading to your local Walmart to verify 4th of July hours, but rest assured that all locations will be open for at least part of the day for all of your holiday shopping needs.
