The case for Lamar:

The upside Lamar Jackson possesses with a full 16 game season is bananas when looking at what he did last season. Last year Jackson made his first career start in week 11 and continued to start until getting eliminated by the Los Angeles Chargers in the wildcard round of the playoffs.

His per game average as a starter included:

163.5 passing yards

76.25 rushing yards

1.375 touchdowns

Now if we extrapolate those numbers we can see a potential 16 game pace and you won’t believe it.

16 game pace:

2,616 passing yards

1,220 rushing yards

22 total touchdowns

In terms of fantasy points, that 16 game pace would have had Lamar Jackson finish with 358 fantasy points in standard league scoring. That crazy amount of fantasy points would have put him as the QB2 last season, only behind fantasy MVP Patrick Mahomes. For those who say that 1,200+ rushing yards for a QB are crazy, I completely agree. Even if Jackson had 700-800 rush yards on his 16 game pace, he would have finished as the QB6 overall last year in fantasy. Last year from weeks 11-17 (when he was the starter) Jackson was the QB7 overall in leagues.
