America runs on Dunkin’, but will the iconic coffee and donuts chain be ready to serve us running Americans on July 4th? We have the answer.

Dunkin’ Donuts’ slogan has been engraved in our minds.

“America runs on Dunkin’.”

Granted, a lot of coffee shop chains would beg to differ. In the minds of some coffee lovers, the chain that really runs America is Starbucks, and it’s not hard to argue with that.

Starbucks seems to be on every corner all over the world these days, even outpacing Dunkin’, the leader of America’s coffee wars before Starbucks embarked on its epic expansion a couple of decades ago.

Add to the mix the number of local and regional coffee names, and the slogan “America runs on Dunkin'” appears to be echoing a time that has long past the chain by.

However, there is some truth to that slogan as well, especially recently when the chain shortened its name and began to double-down on what it does well — coffee and donuts.

So, to that end, America still indeed runs on Dunkin’. With July 4th approaching, however, the question that will be on the minds and hearts of Dunkin’ lovers will be if they will even be open for the 4th of July.

This is a two-prong answer.

The long view is yes, Dunkin’ will be open to serve its fans before they hit the barbecue, but this will go for most locations. If a Dunkin’ happens to be located in an office building, you can best believe that location will be taking America’s Birthday off.

For the standalone locations, however, Dunkin will most certainly fling its doors open for thirsty coffee fanatics. Be cautioned that most store hours may be on “holiday time,” that is they may close earlier than normal to give their employees time to enjoy the July 4th festivities.
