Will Home Depot be open on the 4th of July in the event of holiday household emergencies or for the DIY enthusiasts looking to make the most of the long weekend?

In 2019 the 4th of July falls on a Thursday and that means that lots of people will take a four-day weekend to celebrate the holiday. While some folks will be celebrating the holiday with cookouts and fireworks, some people prefer to get to work on projects around the house and that means they need to know whether or not Home Depot will be open on the 4th of July.

Home Depot will indeed be open for the 4th of July, but be advised that store hours may vary as individual stores may close early to allow employees a chance to go home and celebrate with family and friends. If you need to make a trip to your local store definitely call ahead and check to make sure it’s open before heading out.

Unlike many other big box stores, Home Depot does close down for major holidays. In fact, all locations close for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. While they’re not closed on other holidays like the 4th of July, Memorial Day or Labor Day, each store has the ability to set holiday hours should the need arise.

Since the 4th of July is a holiday that falls on different days of the week, unlike fixed holidays like Easter or Memorial Day, whenever the 4th lands near a weekend it naturally becomes a long weekend, whether it’s a three or four day weekend. That, coupled with the fact that it’s summertime, makes it the ideal opportunity to get a few things done around the house and Home Depot is one of the top destinations for DIY enthusiasts.

It’s also nice knowing that Home Depot is open on holidays so that when a plumbing disaster strikes right before the big BBQ you can get what you need to fix it yourself instead of paying hefty fees to bring in a plumber on a holiday.

As with all holidays, be sure you call ahead to confirm your local Home Depot’s hours before heading out this July 4th.
