It’s the 4th of July and what better way to celebrate America’s Declaration of Independence than Baseball, cashing in with the best FanDuel MLB Daily Lineups options.

The fireworks will be exploding over many cities and baseball stadiums throughout the country. Before that happens, baseball games will be played across the states. Games start as early as 11am ET, with the Nationals hosting the Marlins in the nations capital. What does that mean for FanDuel MLB?

The only way you can play the Nats and Marlins, for FanDuel MLB, today is if you’re playing the All Day slate. Games follow the Nats/Marlins start in the early and late afternoon. FanDuel set up an Early Only and Early slate as well.

So, we have split slates throughout the day, as many as four. That complicates things a bit, but we’re going to keep this simple and focus only on tonight’s Main slate. So for most of you, before the fireworks are flying you can set your lineups for the 7pm ET, or later, games and which your points build throughout the night.

Looking back to last night, Stephen Strasburg had an amazing 74 FanDuel MLB points. Through only 7.1 innings, Stras piled up an incredible 14 strikeouts while only letting four people on base through two walks and two hits. With the win, and giving up no earned runs, Stephen was easily the best FanDuel MLB play of the night.

We could theoretically look to replicate that success, but that’s a very tall hill to climb. I also don’t think we have as good options on the table for the Main slate. So, we’ll buckle down, grab the best pitching value we find on the board, and load up on hitting.

Before we get there, a reminder to never take a MLB DFS optimal lineup as ‘bible’ for your personal lineup each day. Use the suggestions as guidance.

Also, make sure you follow final lineup thoughts throughout the day on our twitter accounts @FanSidedFantasy or me @MattyMcMatt17 for late breaking lineup news and other MLB DFS perspectives.

Weather Note: Frankly, I’m skeptical of the weather tonight. As of right now, weather forecasts limit precipitation across the country to below 50%. However, if you recall my post from Tuesday, we saw the same thing and had one of our key games postponed due to thunderstorms and rain.

So, please keep your eye on weather as the day progresses. It’s hot across the U.S. and the air is unstable, especially on the eastern side of the country. So, unless you’re playing games in a dome, like Toronto (which we’ll get too shortly), you need to be mindful of the weather all day, before you lock in your teams around 7pm ET.

With weather-related considerations addressed, let’s get to the top pitching options…
