Is this the year Oklahoma State football overtakes rival Oklahoma to win the Big 12? Let’s go game-by-game on the Pokes schedule to predict their record.

One of the biggest questions coming out of Stillwater, Oklahoma every year is where will the Oklahoma State Cowboys end up in the land of the Big 12 Conference? It seems to be a constant battle with ā€œbig brotherā€ in Norman, but what will it take for the Oklahoma State Cowboys to reclaim the top spot in the conference and finally make a push for some higher nationwide recognition?

In 2018, the Cowboys finished eighth in the conference only ahead of Kansas and Kansas State. They cruised through the non-conference part of the schedule, racking up almost 150 points in the first three games. Then they were given a rude Big 12 opening by Texas Tech at home, en route to a 7-6 finish.

During the offseason, they made a significant coaching change. After tacking on another year to Mike Gundy’s contract, Oklahoma State hired Sean Gleeson from Princeton as their new offensive coordinator. He comes with a nice Ivy League resume, putting together an offense that couldn’t stop putting points on the board a year ago. For Oklahoma State already having an electric offense, that can’t do anything but help matters at Boone Pickens Stadium.

On the field, there will be a few familiar faces lacing up the cleats. Running back Chuba Hubbard will be back for a Sophomore campaign. He racked up nine touchdowns last year, the most for a Cowboy freshman since 2005. He’ll be joined by the likes of A.J. Green, wide receiver Dillon Stoner, and the duo of Spencer Sanders and Dru Brown competing for the starting quarterback job.

Where will the Cowboys end up in the grand scheme of college football in 2019? Let’s take a quick ride through the upcoming season and throw out a few predictions for Gundy’s crew.
