Welcome to another edition of PGA Golf Betting Picks and Analysis from FanSided Fantasy.

This article will cover some early PGA Golf bets to consider, some to avoid, and some long shots to consider for the 148th Open Championship, taking place at Royal Portrush in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

First of all I want to say I understand that this sort of PGA Golf betting is not 100% legal everywhere in the United States quite yet, but anyone in the industry knows which way this is heading. I still am a mostly DFS guy, and I rarely dabble in betting period, so I would not call myself an expert in this field quite yet, as I may not even personally make these bets I am recommending.

However, I have followed this long enough, and I feel like I could help some of you who may do this a little more than I do, or would like to get a head start before their state jumps on the legalization bandwagon.

There is a certain science to betting on golf, and I will freely admit I have not mastered it yet. My recent success picking winners for DFS though makes me think I can help my faithful readers in this field as well.

It all comes down to odds. I will give a couple of bets I think are bad, either in a sense that the odds are just not good enough, or I just do not think they have what it takes to win at the moment.

Then I will give a couple of picks on who will be my two favorite golfers to win this week, who are also getting decent enough odds to throw a bet on. After that, I will touch on my favorite long shots at 50/1 or over. All odds posted are from Bovada, and please keep in mind they may have changed by the time you read this.
