Fantasy Football Rankings: QB Strength of schedule
Aaron Rodgers (29) – This one really doesn’t come to the surprise to me because right off the bat, you have to think that 4 of his 16 games are against the Khalil Mack led Bears and the Anthony Barr led Vikings. The first 5 weeks are brutal, playing the Bears, Vikings, Broncos, Eagles, and Cowboys in order.
He also plays the Bears and Vikings in the fantasy playoffs which isn’t that appealing. It’s going to be tough for me to pay up for Aaron Rodgers in drafts this season when players like Andrew Luck and Deshaun Watson have similar fantasy upside with much easier SOS.
Not to mention that Rodgers has already been butting heads with new HC Matt Lafleur, so I’ll likely avoid him in round 5.

Matthew Stafford (30) – Similar to Aaron Rodgers, 4 of 16 games this season includes matchups against the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings.
Unfortunately for Stafford, he is nowhere near as talented as Aaron Rodgers is, so it makes it that much worse. Stafford was one of the worst quarterbacks in 2018, with only one QB1 performance last year and 3 games where he finished as the QB30 or worse.
Heading into 2019, I don’t care about the Kenny Golladay and Kerryon Johnson hype, Stafford should not be on your fantasy radar.
Joe Flacco (31) – This is another QB that is not expected to have any fantasy relevance in 2019 but for the sake of the article, we still have to touch base on his SOS.
Two games every year against the Chargers defense is never fun but Flacco will also tee off against the likes of the Bears, Jaguars, Colts, Texans, and the Packers. I think that HC Vic Fangio will look to revolve the offense around his RB’s in Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman.
If I had to pick a WR I’d want from this team, it would be Emmanuel Sanders. He’s more of a reception guy and is going later in drafts than Courtland Sutton.
Patrick Mahomes (32) – The 2018 NFL MVP and 2020 Madden cover athlete Patrick Mahomes has been awarded the task of the hardest SOS for the QBs. This schedule is dreadful. Of course, we know that he gets the Chargers and Broncos twice a year, but on top of that, we see Mahomes go against the Jaguars, Ravens, Colts, Texans, Packers, Vikings, and the Bears.
In the semifinals and finals in the fantasy playoffs, he squares off against the Broncos in week 15, and at the Bears in week 16. On top of the hardest schedule, we are still unaware if he will be missing his favorite WR in Tyreek Hill due to the possibility of the suspension. With a schedule like that, I’m firmly moving Andrew Luck to my QB1 this season.
