The New York Giants’ quarterback situation was already questionable entering the season, but the upcoming Madden game thinks they have the worst collection of signal callers in the NFL.

The way the New York Giants have handled their succession plans for the post-Eli Manning era have been questionable at best. The Giants opted not to take a quarterback in the loaded class of 2018, instead taking Saquon Barkley in an attempt to quickly build a winner.

That backfired, leaving the Giants with the sixth pick in the draft, where they opted to make a risky choice and tabbed Duke’s Daniel Jones as the heir apparent to Manning. Giants’ fans weren’t in love with the choice, and the Madden video game franchise clearly isn’t as well.

Madden has rated Manning as the worst starting quarterback in the NFL, handing him a 72 overall rating. To make matters worse, Manning’s backup Alex Tanney has been given an overall rating of 45, which is the worst for any quarterback in the game.

The two young quarterbacks the Giants have drafted over the past two years were also given poor grades by Madden. Jones was given a 63 rating, which is the worst for a first round quarterback over the past 10 years, while Kyle Lauletta declined from a 71 rating in his rookie year to a 62 rating entering the 2019 season.

As a team, the Giants are rated as a 77 overall by Madden, which is the second worst in football ahead of only the potentially-tanking Miami Dolphins, who received a 74. It’s clear that Madden has no faith in the Giants to get even adequate play out of. the quarterback position this season, which in turn lowers their potential ceiling heading into the year.

Luckily for Giants’ fans, football games are played on the field and not on PlayStation consoles, so the coaching staff and players will have plenty of opportunities to prove that Madden severely underrated them.
