Deshaun Watson (82)

This has to be on the shortlist of the worst Madden ratings in recent memory. Deshaun Watson is a sure-fire top 10 quarterback and is the sole reason why the Houston Texans have any hope as a franchise, in spite of the fact that their running back situation kind of stinks and their offensive line might be worst than the line they trotted out in front of David Carr.

Seriously: The Texans allowed a league-high 62 sacks, meaning that Watson was sacked on more than one-tenth of his dropbacks. Despite this, Watson still finished sixth in the NFL with a 103.1 QB Rating. And he also had to deal with a bevy of injuries at the wide receiver position to key players like Will Fuller and Keke Coutee.

Yet despite being one of the most accurate passers in the NFL with a 68.3 completion percentage, Watson ranks as the 13th-best quarterback in the NFL. His numbers say he’s in the top 10, yet Madden doesn’t think he’s better than Baker Mayfield and Jared Goff.

If Watson played with Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams offensive line, he’d be in the MVP race, too. Rated 82? C’mon, that’s literally only one point above Kirk Cousins.
