FanDuel MLB daily lineups July 16th: Main slate
By Matt Rogers
The second half of the MLB season is in full swing, and FanDuel MLB is back with a massive 7pm ET slate, it’s Main Slate, for Tuesday, July 16th.
After the long All-Star Break last week, MLB baseball was back this past weekend with several, mostly split, slates throughout the weekend. Then, things cooled off again on Monday, with a light schedule and small FanDuel MLB slate.
Fortunately, Tuesday brings us a full schedule, with all games starting after 7pm ET. That presents a massive Main FanDuel MLB slate for the 7pm ET time slot. When the slates are this big, there are greater possibilities for lineups, and therefore more opportunity to differentiate yourself in your MLB DFS lineups from other fantasy baseball players.
I’m especially excited for this slate, as we don’t have too many overwhelming dominate starting pitchers like Max Scherzer, Lucas Giolito, or Jacob deGrom in our SP queue. Instead, we have good pitchers, but with risk. Additionally, we have tons of offensive stacking opportunities. The tricky part on offense will be, who has the best night?
We’ll get there, but before we do, keep in mind this is an informative post. Don’t use these example lineups as the only best option you have tonight. I’m highlighting the best plays we see for this slate, and it’s up to you to piece together the best final optimal MLB DFS lineup.
Also, make sure you follow final lineup thoughts throughout the day on our twitter accounts @FanSidedFantasy or me @MattyMcMatt17 for late breaking lineup news and other MLB DFS perspectives.
Weather Note: As of right now, Tuesday morning, we’re getting the ‘green light’ for every MLB baseball game this evening. However, it’s a very hot and muggy day in a good part of the country, especially the eastern side.
While the odds currently appear to be low, we need to keep our eyes on games in Baltimore, where the Nationals and Orioles are starting their Beltway Series, as well as other games on the Eastern cost.
But, my bigger concern is locations like Chicago, Cleveland, and St. Louis. Up and down the Mississippi River, there are increased chances of rain and/or thunderstorms as the day progresses. So, while it currently appears as if weather won’t impact our MLB DFS plays on Tuesday, you should be weather-aware as we approach the 7pm ET lock.
With weather-related considerations addressed, let’s get to the top pitching options…
