NXT UK Recap for July 17, 2019: Grudgement Day

In case you forgot Imperium were important

Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel get back to doing what they were doing in NXT UK even before they linked up with WALTER to continue doing what they were already doing in NXT UK: being brutal ass-kickers. They barely break a sweat in destroying Saxon Huxley and Tyson T-Bone. There he goes, there goes Saxon Huxley (getting pinned after a diving uppercut-powerbomb combination).

Really — much like Alexander Wolfe’s squash of the tragic Jack Starz — this match is here to just remind you that all of these Imperium guys mean business and are very good at wrestling. Barthel kind of gets knocked down one time and that’s really the only offense Huxley and T-Bone get in.

Given Imperium’s rise and the ensuing “WHO CAN STOP IMPERIUM” hysteria, it’s not hard to see Aichner and Barthel challenging for the tag team titles very soon. Though it bears mentioning that it’s weird when the announcers talk about a group of white, European, Fascism-adjacent dudes restoring “purity” to anything.
