MLB DFS Pitching Plays

Eduardo Rodriguez – Another pitcher I have been writing up all season long, E Rod is the ultimate tease of DFS. Being a reverse splits pitcher, he is only in play on days where he will see a lot of RHH. Well, today is one of those days, and while I was burned in this match-up earlier in the year, I am going right back to it. With a 3.99 xFIP, 24.4% K rate, 44.7% GB rate, and 30% HC. He will see mostly RHH, and against them, he has a .144 ISO, 23.7% K rate, 44.1% GB rate, and only 28% HC.

Pitch Mix  – Rodriguez is a heavy fastball pitcher, using it 50% of the time, then the change, and cutter. Both the fastball, and change gets around 33% whiffs, and the change and cutter get over 65% GB. One of the stranger things about his pitches is his change is only five MPH slower than his fastball. It is a very odd thing but could be the main reason why he has so much success with that pitch. Well that and it moves 10 inches horizontally, and five inches vertically. Overall I think E Rod is a great GPP play, and also has a good chance at getting the win since he pitches for the Red Sox.
