For most of the past decade, the road to the FCS title has led through Fargo. First under Craig Bohl and then Chris Klieman, North Dakota State has dominated the Missouri Valley Conference and the lower tier of Division I football. On the way to winning seven of the past eight national championships, the Bison have looked great all along the way.

Embracing a dark green and lemon yellow color palette, the Bison have yellow and green pants in the wardrobe as well as a trio of similarly styled jerseys in green, white, and yellow. Traditionally, they have topped the uniform with a yellow helmet emblazoned with the Bison logo in green on the side. While the logo has taken on various updates over the years, the green-on-yellow helmet has been the standard dating back to 1964.

In addition to the various jersey and pants combinations and the classic yellow helmet, the Bison also enjoy one of the best alternate helmets in college football. In 2015, North Dakota State debuted a matte green helmet featuring the Bison logo in yellow. Adding a nice touch, the helmet includes a stripe patterned in the same fashion as the wheat spikes on the university seal.

Whereas a team like Oregon takes green and yellow and plays infinite games with their wardrobe, North Dakota State keeps it simple. The Bison have been one of the best-dressed teams in football all throughout their decade of dominance.
