The return of the Angry Wave vaults Tulane up into the greatest 50 uniforms in college football. The logo, first introduced in the 1964 season, long adorned Green Wave uniforms until the advent of the BCS era in 1998. That year, Tulane adopted the logo featuring a wave crashing over an italicized T that would remain its primary look for the next two decades.

The Angry Wave’s reintroduction in 2017 on Green Wave gear at once separated Tulane from other schools with letters as their main logo and restored a classic identity. Coupled with the classic green, light blue, white, and black of the Green Wave aesthetic, the Angry Wave is a striking presence on the side of Tulane helmets.

One area where Green Wave football has excelled in the uniform department is in one-color jersey/pants combinations. In recent years they have donned all-green, all-white, all-black, and even all-light blue looks that feature enough complementary accents to prevent the overall appearance from becoming painfully monochromatic.

Fortunes have slowly improved in recent years in New Orleans, to the point where the Green Wave went bowling last year. It was just one more opportunity to show off one of the greatest logos and color schemes at the FBS level.
