6 Fantasy Football Sleeper Wide Receivers To Target Late In Drafts

It has become a common theme in Fantasy Football drafts to draft running backs early. Aside from the 2016 season, where the consensus top three picks were wide receivers (Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., and Julio Jones), there has been a running back surge.  Last season, the top four non-quarterbacks in PPR scoring were running backs. This makes the desire for a bellcow at an all-time high. According to FantasyData’s ADP, eight of the first 12 picks are running backs. To look even further, there are 19 running backs being selected by the end of the third round in most drafts.

This makes the position at a premium. There are no guarantees, but spending a high pick on a running back paid off a season ago. Of the Top 14 running backs in terms of ADP, nine of them were inside the Top 10 running backs by season end. Waiting on them a dangerous game, as the position becomes extremely thin, with lots of uncertainty. As you compare last year’s ADP to the season end rank, it is a mixed bag. Early drafted running backs come with a nice floor and provide value that is difficult to replace during the season.

Drafting two, or even three running backs right out of the gate can put you a bit behind in the receiver department. It may seem like you’ll fall too far behind at wide receiver, but that is not the case. In what has proven to be a pass-heavy league, most teams can support at least two wide receivers. Throughout this article, I am going to look at some wide receivers who will provide some value to your Fantasy Football team.
