MLB DFS Pitching Plays

Aaron Nola – Yes I am suggesting Nola over local hothead Trevor Bauer. Nola is still a great pitcher, despite regressing this season. He will come in as the lowest owned out of the main three pay up options, and is probably the safest out of all three. Detroit is not a good baseball team, in fact they have the highest K rate in the league currently. Nola has had some struggles against LHH recently, luckily for him the only lefties the have are Goodrum, Candalario, Castro, and Stewart. Those names are not threats by any means. I am going to show you another reason why I like him in the pitch mix.

Pitch Mix – He will use a fastball, curve, change, and sinker. The change and curve get the most whiffs at around 30% each. This is important because Detroit really struggles to hit those pitchers, so I would expect a slight boost in those whiffs today. The GB rate is elite for the change, and curve well above 50%. The main problem has been with the Fastball, I have not saw much change in the movement, or velocity, on the pitch, so its very odd. His placement would be the only other thing that could be impacting the pitch, either way he is a great play, especially in tourneys.
