MLB DFS Pitching Plays

Caleb Smith – The White Sox are possibly one of the worst teams in the MLB at this moment. They have a 26% K rate against LHP, and Smith has a 32% K rate against RHH. The problem is that he wil give up the long ball to that side of that plate, however, Chicago has basically nobody that can hit a home run outside of Jose Abreu. Smith has a high FB rate, HC, and ISO to that side, but his strikeout upside alone will carry him to the promise land.

Pitch Mix – Since returning from his injury, Smith has increased his fastball usage even more as it sits at around 60%.He dropped the change usage and kept his slider at around 25%. This is great because that change was his worst pitch, giving up a big ISO. He gets solid whiffs on every pitch at around 35%, but really low GB numbers. His fastball has dual movement at around eight inches in both directions, which would explain the high whiff numbers on it. If Caleb is on, he will be a threat to reach 50 FD points.
