NJPW G1 Climax 29 Night 9: How to watch, match card and more
After a two day break, New Japan returns with the A-Block’s fifth night of tournament action. Here’s all you need to know about G1 Climax 29 Night 9 including how to watch.
The main event features a battle between the block’s two lone undefeated wrestlers as Kazuchika Okada and KENTA are set to clash. After a slow start, Hiroshi Tanahashi is beginning to surge with his sights now locked on SANADA. The show is set to take place on Saturday, July 27, live from the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium in Naka-ku, Nagoya.
All 10 A-Block participants will have their fifth tournament matches including two first time ever singles matches (Kota Ibushi vs. Lance Archer, Kazuchika Okada vs. KENTA). Underneath them will be four tag team matches set up as previews for the B-Block’s next set of tournament matches scheduled to take place the following night.

Having defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi in the New Japan Cup earlier this year, SANADA will look to end his three-match losing skid by beating the Ace once again. Another New Japan Cup rematch sees the third singles clash between Zack Sabre Jr. and EVIL. The two have split wins, making this the rubber match.
The third New Japan Cup rematch of the night will be between Will Ospreay and Bad Luck Fale. Living up to his name, Fale lost via roll-up during their last encounter. The night’s main event puts the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kazuchika Okada, up against the undefeated legend of Pro Wrestling NOAH, KENTA.
