Temperatures aren’t the only things heating up this summer. With as much as five weeks left in the transfer market, here are five of the hottest signings so far.

The summer is always filled with outrageous rumors about who’s moving where in time for the start of the 2019-20 season. There’s a reason why the summer, when Europe’s major domestic seasons are dormant, is often called the “silly season.”

It’s silly for all the transfer rumors that are floating around the internet. Although agents love to spread those rumors about the players they represent, clubs are also working feverishly in an attempt to reinforce their rosters by September 2 in most of Europe.

The transfer deadline for clubs is based on the start of a country’s domestic season. The Premier League, the first major domestic tournament to start, has set a deadline of August 8. Italy has a deadline of August 23. The deadline for clubs in France, Germany and Spain is September 2.

There are still rumors abound about where the likes of Gareth Bale, Neymar, Mauro Icardi, James Rodriguez and Paulo Dybala may end up by the time the transfer window closes. While the rampant speculation continues, here’s a look at the five biggest summer transfers (so far) this summer.
