MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Saturday, July 27

Welcome back to a special Saturday edition of the MLB DFS Pitching Primer! I’m Thunder Dan and I’ll be covering pitching for MLB DFS on all season long at FanSided Fantasy. I’m including both FanDuel and DraftKings pricing and will be covering my favorite pitching options for both sites.

If you haven’t noticed yet,  FantasyCPR is now officially FanSided Fantasy, your one-stop site for everything fantasy sports-related. I know everyone on our staff is really excited about the transition and the opportunity to grow our reach to more fantasy sports fans!

Nothing on our end is going to change, we just happen to have a new site to host our articles and we have big plans to continue expanding our content to give our readers the most comprehensive analysis of season-long and DFS, all for free!

Last night was a huge success for my pitching picks yesterday! Lance Lynn ended up with 27.9 DK point, value pick Daniel Norris scored 22.65 at only 5.2k salary, while mid-tier options Zach Plesac scored 22.35 and cash game SP2 Jose Urquidy was solid with 19.9. Zach Greinke underperformed a tad but was so chalky that he didn’t hurt you with his 18.5 DK points either.

Today we have a split slate with a 4-game afternoon slate on Draftkings (5-gamer on FanDuel) and a 10-game main slate on both sites. I’ll offer my advice on who you should be considering at pitcher for both slates today and include my rankings as usual!

The goal of the pitching primer is to help you narrow down your pitching options for both your GPPs and cash games. Analyzing pitchers and pitching match-ups is something I really enjoy and I hope to give you a detailed analysis of why I think each pitcher makes for a compelling cash or GPP play.

I’m going to discontinue the “First Look” slide for the foreseeable future. You can find the pitching match-ups and Vegas odds on any number of sites and trimming it will allow me more time during the late-night or early morning hours to offer more analysis for each pitching pick. Let’s start with a quick look at the afternoon slate!
