WWE: Top 5 first opponents Buddy Murphy should face
2. Matt Hardy
Murphy recently wrestled Matt Hardy at a house show in Reno, Nevada. Afterwards, the former multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion praised Murphy’s work ethic to which Murphy responded it was a “childhood dream” to work with Hardy.

Since brother Jeff has been sidelined with a knee injury, along with legal troubles, Matt has been trying to reinvent himself for another singles run. It would make sense to pull this match from the house shows and onto TV for Murphy’s first on-screen wrestling appearance as a member of the SmackDown Live roster.
This would give Matt the opportunity to return to TV and give Murphy a chance to continue working with a veteran of the industry. Then smart money says Matt puts Murphy over to give him a boost as a legitimate threat going forward.
