Fantasy Football ADP: Players being drafted too early or too late

There are aspects of life I don’t understand. Like the ending of some movies, I scratch my head and think, huh? What am I missing here? I try to find the solution but even the explanation does not add up. For example, I am doing a lot of drafts in redraft leagues and I don’t agree with the Fantasy Football ADP of some players. It does not make sense, to me, to draft a player with a big question mark as to his usage, playing time or touches. I have examples of players in almost every round but I will widdle it down to the most egregious.

I get the potential or upside that could push them higher but take for instance in the first few rounds of a draft you want to grab players that are going to produce without a doubt. I don’t want to worry about my starters. I want legit studs who had great years last year, are healthy and will be highly used. Players in new situations, coming off an injury or on a team with new coaches, philosophies or WRs with a new QB could be trouble. Let’s examine these players and why I don’t like their average draft position (ADP). These are my ADP headscratchers, the players being drafted too early or too late.

Nick Chubb

I love Chubb for Dynasty, but for a redraft league? The Browns signed Kareem Hunt and if he doesn’t get suspended again (big if) then he could majorly cut into not only Chubbs playing time but his touches. I can see Chubb start of the season great but then his production could crash when Hunt is off suspension and potentially cut it in half. This is a big gamble taking him in the second round as potentially your number one RB.

Damien Williams

This is another case of we don’t know what’s going to happen. He killed it the last few games of 2018 but can we buy-in on a player who has NEVER started for any team he has been on? We are hearing all the right things that he will be the starter in KC but I am NOT buying it. ADP in the second round? No thanks. That is WAY TOO HIGH FOR ME! It is funny I just drafted him last night in a league but it was the 4th round. That is a much better place in my opinion.

Update, it is being reported that Williams has a hamstring injury in training camp.
