Andrew Luck misses another practice due to injury
Indianapolis Colts star quarterback Andrew Luck missed yet another practice on Monday due to a lingering calf injury.
We’ve heard the Colts say Andrew Luck was fine before. It ended in disaster.
In 2017, Luck was recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. The team was adamant he would return for Week 1. Luck ended up missing the entire season, leaving the Colts with a last-place team.
Now, Luck has continued to miss time this summer with a calf injury. It’s been described as day-to-day, although the Colts are currently ruling him out for at least a few practices. At some juncture, this becomes concerning.
Many expect the Colts to do big things this year. It’s safe to argue they have one of the most talented rosters in the league. With guys like T.Y. Hilton, Eric Ebron, Marlon Mack and others, the Colts are set up to be serious contenders.
However, none of that matters if Luck can’t stay healthy.
This injury may prove nothing more than a small issue. Still, Colts’ fans should be worried. With Luck, the team is a Super Bowl contender. Without him, it’s likely headed to another top-10 draft pick.
Much like most teams in the NFL, the Colts ability to compete and contend relies on if their star quarterback can play every Sunday. Coming off the injury last year, Andrew Luck threw for 4,593 yards and 39 touchdowns while leading the Colts to the Divisional round of the playoffs. In short, his presence is the ultimate game-changer for a franchise aiming to win its third Super Bowl.
As training camp continues to move along, continue to keep an eye out on the quarterback situation over in Indianapolis.
