DraftKings PGA: 2019 Wyndham Championship Picks and Analysis
The WGC Fedex St. Jude was entertaining. A couple brilliant rounds Saturday from Rory and Brooks excited the crowds. Eventually the Major Slayer – Brooks Koepka – outshined the field and took home the trophy. I am not the biggest Brooks supporter, but I appreciate the level of gamesmanship that he brings. The guy is a stone cold killer when he has the lead. Every 10 foot putt was center cup and he knew it prior to it leaving his putter. Congrats to Brooks for securing a share of the 2 million Wyndham bonus. And speaking of Wyndham… The 2019 Wyndham Championship concludes our PGA Tour regular season.
The PGA Tour moves from Memphis to Greensboro, North Carolina. Sedgefield Country Club plays host to the Wyndham Championship. Sedgfield Country Club is not a stranger to PGA Tour events, as is has hosted a Tour event since the 30’s. The Wyndham Championship has called this venue host since 2008.
Sedgfield Country Club is playing 7,127 yards and will play as a par-70. The Donald Ross course is welcoming to low scores. The average score to par at this tract typically sits around 20 under. The fairways are average, the greens are larger than average, and the rough is typically not too penal. Accurate drivers of the golf ball have tended to do well here due to the tree-lined the fairways. We stay with Bermudagrass again this week, which is a huge advantage to the golfers who are familiar with the surface. What I will put a lot of emphasis this week is approach, Par-4 scoring, and Bermudagrass putting. My estimate is that the winner of this tournament posts an 23-under.
