Lucha, Lucha, Lucha!

The sit-down interview with Humberto Carrillo continues. His favorite 205 Live match was against Buddy Murphy. Carrillo makes it clear that he wants the Cruiserweight title. Coming from a family of wrestlers that never won a WWE title, Carrillo vows that he’ll be the first.

We cut to a backstage segment with Lucha House Party. Sarah asks how Lucha influences 205 Live. LHP answers that everyone is Lucha. They all put over Carrillo, however Lince Dorado has some reservations. He feels that Carrillo just talks about being Lucha, but doesn’t show it.

Dorado leaves to face Ariya Daivari. Kalisto and Gran Metallik stay in the back and commentary wonders if this is due to Dorado’s comments on Carrillo. In his first match back in three weeks, Daivari attempts to leave the ring early on, but is dragged back to the ring by his opponent. Dorado focuses on traditional Lucha moves and commentary points out that Carrillo tends to practice more updated Lucha moves.

Since the show is in Memphis, Daivari mocks Jerry “The King” Lawler, but it backfires. Both Superstars attempt their finishers, but they don’t work. Dorado gets the rollup pin.

Before heading to the main event, Gulak reminds the crowd that no one has stepped to him since he won the Cruiserweight title. He’ll be watching the main event closely because he’ll face Kanellis at SummerSlam should he win. If Maverick wins, Gulak will be back at the beginning with no opponent to face at one of the biggest shows of the year.
