14. Best college football teams of all-time: 2018 Clemson

Is 2018 Clemson one of the best team’s ever? Dabo Swinney sure thinks so.

This team defeated what was called by many people the “greatest team of all-time” when they smoked Alabama in the National Championship Game. It was the worst loss by Alabama in the Saban era.

Not only did this Tigers team led by freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence and an absolutely massive and talented defensive line defeat then-No. 1 Alabama by 28 points, but they also beat No. 3 Notre Dame by 27 points in the Cotton Bowl, holding the Irish to just three points.

At the end of the year, several players on this Tigers team claimed individual records, including unanimous All-American Christian Wilkins and six other players who were named to All-American teams. Three players were taken in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but without a doubt more would’ve gone in the first round if they were of age to be draft-eligible.

With Lawrence having another season before he’s eligible for the NFL Draft, it’s very possible he adds to his collection of national titles.
