Jon Moxley will be appearing live, but will he be in action?

The first match that fans will see from AEW on TNT is Cody vs. Sammy Guevara. Somewhat surprisingly, this has been a controversial announcement. Some fans have been questioning the decision to have Cody’s first opponent to be someone that isn’t a household name. Isn’t that the point? AEW is creating new stars. They’re introducing fans to talent they may have only seen in gifs or just read their name online. This match is huge for Guevara and shows the confidence that they have in him. Not only is he facing Cody, he’s in the first match on the first show. You can’t get much bigger than that.

In exciting news, AEW will crown the first Women’s World Champion on the debut show. No word yet on which women will be competing to be the inaugural Women’s World Champion.
