After a day’s break, New Japan returns with the A-Block’s seventh night of tournament action. Here’s all you need to know about G1 Climax 29 Night 13 including how to watch.

The main event will be the seventh singles clash between Kazuchika Okada and SANADA. Although he no longer has a chance of winning the block, SANADA has never defeated Okada in their six previous encounters making this a very important match in his career. The show is set to take place on Saturday, August 3, live from the EDION Arena Osaka in Naniwa-ku, Osaka.

All 10 A-Block participants will have their seventh tournament matches, including three first time ever singles matches (Will Ospreay vs. EVIL, Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Lance Archer, KENTA vs. Bad Luck Fale). Underneath them will be four tag team matches set up as previews for the B-Block’s next set of tournament matches scheduled to take place the following night.

A-Block tournament matches

Zack Sabre Jr. (2-4) vs. Lance Archer (2-4)

EVIL (3-3) vs. Will Ospreay (2-4)

Hiroshi Tanahashi (4-2) vs. Kota Ibushi (4-2)

Kazuchika Okada (6-0) vs. SANADA (2-4)

Relegated to playing the spoiler role, Bad Luck Fale will be looking to give KENTA his third loss in a row and make it improbable for him to win the block in the process. Suzuki-Gun are set to clash for the first and only time in this year’s tournament. Neither Zack Sabre Jr. nor Lance Archer are capable of winning the G1 at this point but they will be able to find out who reigns supreme within their stable.

Just hanging on is EVIL, who needs this win against Will Ospreay in order to keep his tournament hopes alive. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi are set to collide in a rematch of last year’s tournament final. Both men are in desperate need of a win in order to keep within arm’s reach of block leader, Kazuchika Okada.

Speaking of whom, Okada has dominated the A-Block six matches in with plans of extending his streak to seven as he squares off against a man he holds a perfect 6-0 singles record against, SANADA. Despite no longer having a chance to win the tournament, a win over Okada would be a milestone in SANADA’s career as well as keep his LIJ stablemate, EVIL, alive in the tournament as long as EVIL wins his match against Will Ospreay.
